Wednesday morning Coffee with Fortenberry & Clements

The Lt. Governor Mike Foley and Senator Rob Clements invite you to a community conversation with Special Guest U.S. Congressman Jeff Fortenberry on October 31st.

The first community conversation will be a breakfast in Plattsmouth at Mom's Cafe from 8:00-9:00 AM -- 422 Main St. The second community conversation will be coffee in Louisville at B's Diner and Bakery from 10:30-11:30 AM -- 127 Main St. The third community conversation will be a lunch in Springfield at the Springfield Memorial Library from 12:15-1:30 PM -- 665 Main St. The fourth and final community conversation will be held in elmwood at the Elmwood Community Center from 4:30-5:30 PM -- 144 1/2 N 4th St.

The community conversations are a great opportunity to meet and chat with your elected representatives. We hope to see you at one of these four events! Let me know if you have any questions.

LPSNRD Tree Program

The Lower Platte South Natural Resources District will begin its annual bare-root tree seedling sales program (i.e. Conservation Forestry Program) starting November 1 st . Anyone within the Lower Platte South NRD is welcome to purchase trees. These bare-root trees/shrubs are offered for less than $1 apiece. All species are sold in bundles of 25. There are over 40 different species available, with windbreak classics like Colorado Blue Spruce & Ponderosa Pine, to wildlife friendly shrubs like Chokecherry & American Plum and some forest giants like Bur Oak & Black Walnut. The NRD is also excited to offer some new species this year such as Bald Cypress, Sycamore and Redbud. Please visit www.lpsnrd.org/programs/trees for complete species list and ordering information. You can purchase them online or by mailing in the printable brochure. The NRD will take orders until March 22 nd 2019 with trees expected to arrive by Arbor Day. 2018 10 31 MCC cookbook

Members of the Murray Christian Church, Murray, NE,  have been busy creating a new cookbook that's here just in time for holiday gift-giving.  There are still cookbook collectors out there that would appreciate this addition to their collection!  Included are 78 pages of recipes, along with cooking tips, too.

Cookbooks are only $10 each, with proceeds going to the church.

The Lofte's Online store is open for business! The store will only open a few times a year, and right now it's open through November 4th.
 
Once the store closes all orders will be processed. You can have your order shipped to you or you can choose to have your items available for pickup at The Lofte! You'll be notified by e-mail when your order is ready to be picked up and you'll then have up to 30 days to come and get it, which means all orders will be available during the first weekend ofNuncrackers (Opening December 1st)! You can also pick up your items during normal business hours, see site for details.

FREE PRENATAL CLASSES 

A new session of the Sarpy/Cass Health Department’s prenatal education program, “Becoming a Mom”, begins on Thursday, November 1.  The free classes on healthy pregnancy and newborn care are taught by experienced maternal and child health nurses.  The program consists of six classes, and participants may attend any classes they choose.  Topics include prenatal care and testing, pregnancy nutrition, stress, labor and delivery, newborn care and breastfeeding, and postpartum care.
