Requirements of the Zoning Administrator 

  • Prepares all necessary permit application forms Issues and receive any building permit within the Village and one mile radius Provides assistance in filling out the permit application Processes the application 
  • Reviews all permits for conformance with regulations Permit specifications are adequate to building space Follows Comprehensive zoning regulations Property follows correct land use Forwards permit application to Planning Commission if necessary 

Provides staff assistance to Planning Commission Makes planning and zoning recommendations Provides assistance to citizens on planning matters 

  • Issues permits where authorized with regulations Conducts field inspections of permit specifications Keeps zoning and subdivision maps updated Processes complaints on violations and seeks legal action if needed Issues a “stop work” order verbally and tags the construction Treats citizens in a respectful and friendly manner Offers suggestions to correct the situation 
  • After receiving and approving permits, forwards applicable permits to the County Assessor’s office and zoning administrator 

• And any other duties as assigned by the Village Board
